The Lagos state government has commenced a renewed drive to crackdown on street trading, illegal markets and shanties around major infrastructure in the state.
The state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, during a tour of the red line rail project issued a 2-day ultimatum for traders to vacate the rail line rail tracks at Agege.

Meanwhile, the commissioner for Environment Tokunbo Wahab in several posts on X also highlighted the illegal markets and shanties being shut down and destroyed in several parts of the state. Tokunbo Wahab also announced that traders along road medians and walkways are to vacate from such areas.
